Our next Steering Committee Meeting will be on

, at 10:45 am.

The Steering Committee meets on the first Sunday of each month at 10:45 am.
All are welcome to attend.

Our next Group Conscience Meeting will be on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 10:45 am

At the recent Northland Group Conscience Meeting on 4/21/24, a list of proposed changes to the Northland Bylaws were discussed and voted upon. The proposed changes were written by the Bylaw Committee and posted a month before the April Group Conscience meeting to follow the requirement that any “Proposed amendment must be posted on the Group Bulletin Board for a minimum of four weeks prior to the Group Conscience meeting at which it will be resolved.”

Naturally, as the posted changes were discussed on April 21, two additional changes were also brought up. Because those two changes were proposed, discussed, and voted on the day of the Group Conscience meeting, they did not meet the requirement of having been posted for 4 weeks.

This announcement is the proper posting of the proposed changes which will be discussed and voted upon at the upcoming Group Conscience meeting on June 16 at 10:45 am:

1.     Changing the requirements for a Nominating Committee on page 5

Current wording: “Nominations for the Steering Committee will be made by a three member panel of non-Steering Committee members who will submit a slate of willing candidates for election.”

Proposed new wording: “Nominations for the Steering Committee will be made by a three-member panel, including at least one non-Steering Committee member, who will submit a slate of willing candidates for election.”

2.     Adding the sentence “The treasurer and secretary shall both be signatories on relevant Northland Group banking accounts.” to the description of the Secretary’s duties on page 6 and the description of the Treasurer’s duties on page 7

3.     Adding the sentence “Creates and distributes welcome packets for new Steering Committee Members” to the Vice Chair duty description – or possibly as a whole or shared responsibility for another position, such as the Service Rep, as discussed and voted upon.

It will be a hybrid (in-person in the Big Room and Zoom) meeting.

All are encouraged to attend and participate.
